Guide · for finance teams
A focused walkthrough for production accountants, controllers, and incentive consultants — the incentive, budget, spend, financing, and audit tools, without the creative pipeline. Switch to Finance view (top right) to hide everything else.
Accountants open directly on Finance & Compliance and consultants on Incentives, both in Finance view — a streamlined menu of just the finance path. You can flip back to Full anytime.
The whole finance model keys off one decision: which jurisdiction you shoot in. Incentives ranks programs against your scenes and budget, showing rate, caps, refundable vs. transferable, local-hire uplift, and an admin-complexity read.
Build the cast/crew/vendor roster and flag local residents (and their state) — this feeds a program's local-hire requirement. For a full unit, Import from CSV / spreadsheet (columns: name, role, department, isLocalResident, residencyState, union) — paste straight from Excel; invalid rows are reported by line number.
Log transactions with two qualifying flags: spent in the target jurisdiction (earns the credit) and US services (for §181). Re-tag a transaction to a different jurisdiction for multi-state credit. For volume, Import from CSV; remove a mistaken entry with ✕; Notarize any transaction you want independent, timestamped proof of.
Record financing per holder — equity, debt, gap loans, presales. Configure a recoupment waterfall (senior debt → gap → investor recoupment → producer → backend). Log revenue as it arrives; Film Forge computes each investor's recoupment status and suggested disbursements by priority, net of what's already been paid.
The one-page statement banks and completion-bond companies expect: money in (cap table + projected incentives, split into hard and soft money) vs. money out (the budget top sheet). It flags any funding gap and whether committed hard money alone covers the budget — the number a bond company actually underwrites, since incentives arrive only after qualifying spend.
When a financier, auditor, or film commission needs proof, the Audit Package bundles spend, credit, compliance, chain of title, and every on-chain proof into one canonical record — as a printable report or a notarized snapshot whose fingerprint anyone can verify.
